This initiative is a collaborative partnership between Laughing Hyena and selected local entrepreneurs (the Operators). Our goal is to empower individuals to run a successful retail business directly within their communities.

Through this program, Operators are granted use of a branded shipping container shop. Key program pillars include:

• Container Set Costs: You are required to pay a one-time Setup Fee for the container. This covers the cost of purchasing a 20-foot container, beautifying it with the Laughing Hyena brand and stocking it with locally-made consumer goods.
• Monthly Franchise Fee: You share your profits with us to cover our administrative costs by paying a monthly Franchise Fee. This covers container maintenance – external deterioration, online marketing on our website and social media pages and minor administrative tasks.
• Keep Your Profits: You retain all of your trading income and profits less the Monthly Franchise Fee.
• Locally-Made Model: In alignment with our Locally-Made Products Policy, all inventory sold must be proudly manufactured right here in Ghana. We make room for flexible stocking through our 60-30-10 model. 60% of your stock must be made in Ghana, 30% in Africa and 10% anywhere else in the world.
